TEHRAN, Jan. 06 (Shana) — Iran is planning to build major petrochemical projects in the vicinity of the northwestern city of Tabriz in order to transform the region into a petrochemical heavyweight in the country and the region.
The official said the pipeline project will cost IRR 300b which will be procured by private investors.
“I am optimistic that Tabriz, as one of Iran’s civilization hubs, will become a key region in the petrochemical industry in the future, too,” said the official.
Tabriz Petrochemical Complex is planned to build a new olefin unit in the future in order to enhance its output, said Zangeneh.
The pipeline is expected to come on-stream by March 2020.
Doubling the output of TPC’s ABS unit, boosting production of pentane, launching new SBR, SBS and PBR units at the complex are some of the targets of the pipeline’s construction.
