TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (Shana) — National Iranian Gas Transmission Company (NIGTC) says it have supplied over 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas to northwestern provinces of the country for heating over the past 30 days.
Saeid Tavakoli, managing director of the NIGTC, said natural consumption in the provinces rose by 115 mcm in the provinces in the Iranian month of Azar (November 21-December 20) from the same month last year.
He also said that the company has supplied 3 bcm of gas to consumers in northwestern provinces since December 2016.
The official also voiced his company’s readiness to supply gas to all parts of the country during winter.
Ashgabat supplied only about 10 million cubic meters of gas per day to Iran which consumes over 700 mcm/d. The exported gas was consumed by northern provinces in Iran.
Iran’s National Gas Company (NIGC) has condemned the move by Turkmenistan as a violation of a bilateral accord.
