When drilling rigs are active they consume products and services produced by the oil service industry. The active rig count acts as a leading indicator of demand for products used in drilling, completing, producing and processing hydrocarbons.
We surveyed the Rig Count in different regions and countries and brought the results to this chapter. The total number of rigs by region Until January 2019: Europe(86) / Middle East(402)/ Africa(109)/Latin America(194)/Asia Pacific (232). According to Baker HUGHES rig count, the total number of rigs in the month of June 2018 was 959, which reached 1023 in January 2019 (6.6% increase). From June 2018 to January 2019, a month-on-month increase was observed in the number of rigs, except in November 2018, which is down 2.5% from last month. In general, in the onshore section, Europe Increase number of its rigs (48 in June 2018 which reached 55 in January 2019). But in the offshore section, Europe did not change its number of rigs significantly. In contrast to Europe, the Middle East has increased its rigs in offshore section and decreases it in onshore (offshore
section: Has increased by 50% from June 2018 to January 2019 / onshore section: Has decreased by 3.1% in the same period) The total U.S. Rig count for January 2019 was 1113, down 34 (-3%) from December 2018 and up 18 (2%) from January 2018.
