NDCO Ready to Set Up Drilling Rigs in Persian Gulf

Managing Director of the North Drilling Company (NDCO) said the company is ready to erect five more offshore rigs in the Persian Gulf oil field following launching of Sahar-2 rig in Salman field which Iran shares with UAE.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of Sahar-2 leasing agreement between NDCO and Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Ezatollah Hejazi said that the rig will lead to boosting Iran’s production from the joint field.\
He also said that NDCO plans to increase the number of its rigs in the Persian Gulf fields.

IOOC Managing Director Saeid Hafezi also said at the ceremony that NDCO which won the tender is a competent company which can help his company in drilling new wells and restore the existing ones.
Sahar-2 is the second Iranian rig in the Persian Gulf which was set up in the last three months after the one set up by MAPNA company for IOOC.

Name of the third Iranian rig will be announced after its tender’s result is out.
